Goal Digger Spotlight: Bossy is as Bossy Does!
I recently got a chance to sit down with my #GoalDigger girlfriend and colleague, Tara Seals. We had a very candid conversation about her journey to becoming a “sista with a good story to tell” to being a publisher author! When I sat down and read her book, I didn’t know what to expect! Tara is highly educated with a keen sense of humor. In true Tara Seals form, her book was no disappointment. It was a refreshing read that captured me and sparked a fire to GET UP AND GET IT DONE! I’m super busy, so the length of the book and direct delivery were perfect for me. If you’re a go-getter, a mover and shaker or even a wannabe, pick up the book! John, my childhood friend, was a veteran teacher with 16 years of experience teaching English in Memphis, TN. When I decided I was going to write my book, I knew immediately who I would call to hire for the editor position. John knew his stuff and when I called him with the news, he was flabbergasted and honored.
I discussed the project with him and he was immediately on board! My book project took exactly one year, start to finish. I experienced so many hardships during the time I was writing my book as if the devil himself was present. Four of my closest relatives had recently passed, my husband fell ill, my business took a hit, and I was just overwhelmed with life. BUT, the thought of not finishing my book pierced my soul to the core. I had so much to say, so much to share, and I wanted others to know that Bossy was the way to go. It was no way I could not finish. I pushed through some of the darkest of days using the keys that I share in my book along with deep prayer, meditation, extreme focus, and being bossy. The storms were ranging, but my determination and perseverance was steadfast and unmoved.
Fast forward to March 2017 and my first self-published book was complete!!! I couldn’t believe I was holding it in my hand…all of the hard work, sleepless nights, setbacks, erasure marks, fears, stained paper from the tears of joy and sorrow…Bossy Is As Bossy Does: The Keys That Open Doors was born.
In Bossy Is As Bossy Does, I am sharing my life experiences, the good, the bad, and the ugly while delivering my perspective on what it truly means to be the boss of one’s self and destiny.
