Tuesday Motivation! Do you think you’re AMAZING?
Happy Tuesday folks! I’m so happy to share this piece from a Guest Writer! She has decided to remain anonymous, and go by the pseudonym “the Fox. I encourage anyone that wants to share, to submit your piece to Naja@MissNaja.com
I had a guy once say to me that I was AMAZING. He said this to me out of the blue and not after an
amazing sexual act or a great thing that I had done. He said it just as a matter of fact. He was not deliberate in his
delivery. So seamless, in fact, that for a second, I almost believed him, but the skeptic in me needed him to elaborate
a little. As sad it is sounds, I felt the need to ask him to explain this. It is sad because I was not asking so
that he would continue to shower me with praises, I was asking because I genuinely did not understand
the logic behind his declaration. “How am I amazing? I haven’t even done anything for you?”
He began to list out of the things about me that made me SO amazing. I was blown away. I had not
known that someone had been paying that much attention to me and my behavior. Don’t worry this will
not be a list of things that make “the Fox” amazing. This is a public service announcement to women to
find their self-worth.
We like to tell ourselves how beautiful we are as we decorate ourselves with fancy clothes and
accessories ( including hair, nails, and make-up). We like to boost about our independence and sexual
prowess and indulge in the things that make us feel “ like a woman”. I often hear women brag about the material
wealth that they have gained or how much a pair of shoes cost THEM or their latest foreign excursion……I rarely see
the same pride displayed when it comes to things like being humble or kind or just plain old pleasant to be around.
Here I was after having just turned the ripe old age of 34 and I had to have it explained to me what
made me amazing. Not only did it have to be explained, but it was the first time I had taken into account
that I could actually be something that someone would have considered amazing.
I say all the time that when I die, I will leave behind a legacy of kindness, humor, compassion, loyalty,
strength, peace, honesty and beauty. Aside from my accomplishments, I know I’ve done a good job because of the
people I have attracted in my life and the reflection of my light in their lives. So ladies, if you have not taken
the time today to ask yourself who you truly are behind the scenes and found some appreciation for
that woman in the mirror, I encourage you to do so and I pray that the woman looking back at you is
undoubtedly AMAZING!
