Ladies, Women & Divas vs Baby Boomers, Baby Mamas or Senior Citizens!!!
It’s official folks! Age is irrelevant… when it comes to women and beauty that is! Just whose sexy toned biceps have been talked about even more than the new bank rescue plan? 45 year-old Michelle Obama’s. Whose got the best legs in America and happens to be our nations’ most eligible bachelorette? No contest, its Jen Aniston, 40.
#1. I refuse to tell anybody my age, my personal motto is, “You are as young as you think you are”. If asked my age, I respond, “How old do I look”? 35 “Thank-you” good guess!
#2. There is no guarantee of aging gracefully; my singing career keeps me forever young, and hanging with the “younger” generation encourages my playful spirit and youthful outlook, although it’s experience that has taught me to nurture myself, and to stay injury-free.
#3. “I am so much more respectful of my body now, “I didn’t eat as well when I was in my 20s or get as much rest. As I get older, I start researching ways to keep myself healthy, and fit.”
#4. Hey Divas, Want to keep that waistline and round rump, the secret is “healthy safe sex”. Sex is the best exercise, but be careful and play it safe gals if you want to make it to the ladies of the 80’s. Myself, I hit the gym at least 3 times per week.
#5. Never stop learning, I started college after I graduated high school and received my two associates degrees in Business Management and Executive Secretarial Science. I began my first job as an Office Manager at an employment agency, but had an urge to complete my bachelors and hit the campus at Mississippi Valley State University with a scholarship in Music. The Kappa’s, Q – Dogs and Sigmas and the students down there often wondered why I looked so much more vibrant and attractive than the country girls. Even Jerry “World” Rice was attracted to me; I stayed on campus in the dormitory in Itta Bena, MS. I received my Bachelors degree in Business Administration in 1986. Worked for 16 more years as a Coordinator of Vocational Services, job shut down due to the economy. I went back to school and received another Bachelor in Technical Management degree. Continued and completed my Masters degree in Business Administration in 2012, and now working on my doctoral degree in Education by 2016. It’s kept me by staying younger mentally, “You are never too old to learn” and remember “The mind is a terrible thing to lose”, I practice mental activities which challenge the brain and learn new things throughout my life. I do physical exercise for overall body health and better brain health and also, social activities with family and meeting new people.
#6. “Live, Love and Laugh” – laughter will help you to stay younger for sure and docs have even said that, it releases stress, and stress causes heart attacks and strokes, and that is a proven fact for sure. Laughter is my major secret to staying younger. Laugh at life, and don’t let it bring you down on any level.
#7. Spiritual strength – always stay prayed up, you need GOD in you life more now than ever.
#8. “Typical 40/50-something women start to exercise less, they eat on the go more and the body composition of lean tissue and fat tissue gets flipped, meaning there’s greater fat and less muscle tissue, which doesn’t support the same level in terms of metabolism. Because muscle is more metabolically active than fat, if you maintain more normal body composition, you’re going to be able to maintain a more normal metabolism. All these factors combined lead to that creeping fat development known as middle-aged spread. That gradual subtle weight gain that happens where by the time you’re in your 50s, you’re like, ‘What the heck happened to my body?’
